Google announced that phone numbers will no longer be allowed in regular AdWords ads.  You will need to use the call extensions feature.

Putting the phone number in the ad was a favorite practice of restaurants, carry out places, and just about anyone who would benefit from having their phone number in front of the consumer.  Well that “free” ride is now over.  If you are an advertiser who want their phone number in their ad, call extensions must be used.

For the added expense of call extensions, you will receive some additional data.  Advertisers who use the feature will receive campaign data, including conversions, phone impressions, phone calls, and average cost per call.
