40% of all cyber attacks are directed at companies with less than 500 employees.  To help combat the problem the FCC is creating an online tool to help these companies.
The Small Biz Cyber Planner will allow businesses to create customized cyber security plans by answering simple questions about their business and its online presence.  The Planner will be available in November.

The effort is the result of a collaboration of the FCC, the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Symantec, Visa Inc., Automatic Data Processing Inc. (ADP), Bank of America and others.
Roland Cloutier, chief security officer at ADP, helped put the threat to small business in perspective.  “Is it easier to steal a million dollars from a global company that has massive security measures in place, or $200,000 from five small businesses?”
