No sooner did DuckDuckGo.com, the tiny search engine that could, announce that they surpassed two-million daily searches, they passed three million.  On June 10, 2013 they surpassed two million for the first time, then on week later, on June 17th, they surpassed three million.

There was a fair amount of press for the two million search benchmark, so that no doubt helped fuel the surge past three million.

If you want to see their daily statistics, they keep a running total here.

By way of comparison, Google has one billion searches a day, so they're not concerned at this time with a million or two searches a day.

But there is a very key difference between the two that users should be aware of.  Google tracks your search history and uses it for marketing purposes; DuckDuckGo does not.  They rely solely on search advertising to fund their operation.
